HelderbergFM is a community radio station based in Somerset West. Broadcast area includes Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Sir Lowry’s Pass, Nomzamo, Lwandle, Firgrove and Macassar. However HFM’s footprint extends to parts of the Cape Peninsula, southern and northern suburbs, Cape West Coast, Stellenbosch, Elgin, Grabouw, Villiersdorp, Hermanus and Gansbaai. Broadcasting in English, Afrikaans, and isiXhosa 24/7, HFM has broad appeal, guaranteeing good company around the clock. The station acquired its broadcast license in 1995 and is celebrating 27 years as the Voice of the Helderberg and Beyond. The station is run by a General Manager, acting on behalf of a Board of Trustees. A core team of staff is employed full-time while most of the wider network of 22 presenters provide services on a contract basis.
