Solar Radio is a solar-powered transmission art installation at Wave Farm's 29-acre campus in Acra, New York. A small AI mounted atop a radio tower wakes with daylight and crafts ever-shifting generative soundscapes—synthesizing the calls of insects, birds, frogs, wind, rain, and shifting weather—then goes quiet when the sun sets. Created by Absolute Value of Noise and Anna Friz, it debuted in September 2022 and streams live during daylight hours (roughly 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. ET), with fragments also broadcast on WGXC 90.7-FM.
