WLCR was purchased in early 1999, the effort and commitment of more than thirty local Catholics. The station went on the air on Pentecost Sunday, 1999. The station is a lay apostolate working to bring Catholic programming to the Bullitt and Jefferson County area and to assist Catholic parishes and organizations with publicizing local Catholic events.
