WHSN 89.3 FM — "Bangor's Alternative" — is a non-commercial alternative rock station licensed to Bangor, Maine, and owned by Husson University. On the air since 1974, it is operated by students of the New England School of Communications (NESCom) and serves as a hands-on training ground for the next generation of radio broadcasters. The station reaches across Penobscot County at 3,000 watts and was named a Marconi Award finalist for Non-Commercial Station of the Year in 2016.
